Job Summary
Senior Structural Design Engineer
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for performing structural analysis and design for building materials.
The ideal candidate will consistently deliver structurally sound, cost-effective, and timely solutions. Projects typically range from moderately complex to highly intricate, with special assignments tailored to the engineer's expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Design primary and secondary structural framing systems and connection details for building projects.
Demonstrate expertise in various local, state, national, and international building codes.
Maintain advanced proficiency in design software and digital tools, with recognition as subject matter expert in applicable software platforms.
Ensure clear, accurate, and timely documentation of engineering designs and communications with builders/customers.
Collaborate with drafting teams to develop shop fabrication and field erection details.
Maintain effective communication with engineering and drafting personnel throughout the design and detailing process.
Review drafted drawings to verify alignment with the original design intent.
Stay current and proficient in relevant codes and standards, including AISC, AISI, ASCE 7, IBC, MBMA Building Systems Manual,
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Construction Engineering.
Preferred: Master's degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Qualifications & Skills
Degree must be ABET-accredited and suitable for professional licensure.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in multiple states; Structural Engineer (SE) licensure preferred.
8 years of experience in steel or metal building design.
