Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supervising a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring equipment reliability, and supporting production uptime while maintaining compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of maintenance technicians across all shifts.
- Ensure timely and effective maintenance of conveyors, ovens, packaging equipment, fryers, and other food processing machinery.
- Monitor and maintain equipment used in high-temperature and oil-based cooking environments.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS
- Collaborate with production, sanitation, and quality teams to support operational goals.
- Assist in training and development of maintenance staff, promoting safety and technical growth.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and cost reduction.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Strong working knowledge of food processing equipment, especially in frying and battering operations.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced production setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or off-shifts as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, oil, moisture, and food ingredients.
- Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of heavy equipment or parts.
- PPE required in designated areas.
